Research on appearance management behavior according to makeup behavior of elderly female and beauty therapy program operation measures

Abstract
A survey was given to 324 females, age 60 and older, to analyze the relationship between appearance management behavior according to classification of makeup behavior groups, psychologically expected effect after makeup and measures to operate Beauty therapy programs. As a result, the most desired Beauty therapy programs were skin care and hair style and cosmetic follow. Those who show wear more makeup than others were more willing to participate in a Beauty therapy program and had greater interest in the program. In addition, one session a week was most preferred by the respondents regardless of their makeup behavior group. Those who wear more makeup than others have more appearance management behaviors and greater psychological expected effect after makeup. Beauty therapy programs should help elderly women to have healthy and beautiful later lives and the government should provide support to operate Beauty therapy programs.
